NCRCUF World Models .46 Nitro Racing

These rules apply to the 2010 race season and can be altered throughout the season for the purpose of safety or competition.

Skyraider Mach II

*** Aircraft are to be built per the manufacturer’s instructions with the following exception

Older Skyraider Mach II airframes may have the cowling cheeks modified per the new Skyraider Mach II configuration.

Ailerons may have the outboard tips tapered like the T-34 stock wing to prevent flutter.

Motor may be oriented in any orientation.

Any alternate wheel may be used, but must use stock mounting hardware.

Backup aircraft may be substituted for an unsafe damaged primary aircraft.

Engine

Any .46 2-cycle non-racing engine maybe used (OS .46AX, Tower .46, Magnum .46XL,

TT .46, etc.)

Muffler

Stock muffler can be modified by removing or modifying baffling and increasing the exhaust port inside diameter.

Non-tuned pipe aftermarket mufflers may be used.

Prop

Any prop is allowed

Props are not to be modified except for balancing.

Fuel

Maximum of 15% Nitro

Radio

Any AMA approved radio

Races

Points

5 a/c heat: 1st – 5pts, 2nd – 4pts, 3rd – 3pts, 4th – 2pts, 5th – 1pt

4 a/c heat: 1st – 5pts, 2nd – 4pts, 3rd – 3pts, 4th – 2pts

Pylon Cuts

1 cut: 1pt, 2 cuts: 0pts

Racers are given the word to “start engines and take to the air” are on a 2 minute maximum timer.

DNS & DNF are 0pts.

Each race will be 10 laps.

Jump starting the race will result in the racer having to complete an 11th lap.

Season points are accumulated throughout the 6 race series with the best 5 events only being counted.

Race Day

2010 will have a 6 race series. The races will usually be held on the first Sunday of each even month (Feb 14th, April 4th, June 5th, Aug 1st, Oct 3rd, & Dec 5th). In the event of a weather postponement, the race will be held the following weekend. Race setup & registration will begin at 8 a.m., racer meeting is at 9 a.m., and the first race will begin at 10 a.m. Entry fees will be $10.00 for each race day.

Championship Banquet

The champion banquet will be held Dec 11th at a location to be determined. 1st place will receive a $250 gift certificate good at either of the local hobby store, 2nd place $125 gift certificate to either LHS, 3rd place $75 gift certificate to either LHS. Remaining proceeds generated by the racing event will be used towards cost of banquet and other awards.
