Membership in NCRCUF comes with many benefits.  One of them, which is almost like a free insurance policy for your new airplane, is our flight training program.  Our club has a roster of talented flight instructors who are willing to donate their time teaching the principles and practical application of the successful operation of fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft.  Many people who try to learn on their own, damage or destroy their airplane early in the process- and sometimes just give up. We don’t want to see this happen to anyone.  By working with one of our club instructors, you’ll have an experienced flyer to check out your airplane, fly it for you, and adjust it as necessary.  Then, he will teach you, in a step-by-step demonstration process, how to fly it yourself.  In no time at all, you’ll be flying your airplane solo!

Sometimes that shiny, sleek, and sexy airplane that you bought at the hobby shop isn’t the best one for you to learn to fly with.  In fact, most of the time that’s the case.  Rather than trying to teach you to run before you can walk, and rather than suggesting that you return your airplane to the store, our club maintains a fuel powered, .40 sized fixed wing trainer aircraft that can be used by club instructors for member training.  This is a medium sized, high-wing airplane that is specifically designed for the task of learning to fly.  It is durable (important for landing practice), forgiving in flight (meaning it doesn’t freak out if you tell it to do something really strange), and economical for the club to operate.  Since it’s fuel powered, you’ll also learn how to start, tune, service and adjust a 2 cycle power-plant.  And, once you outgrow our club trainer, your instructor will let you know you’re ready for your fancier setup.

If you are a club member who is interested in training, please fill out the flight training contact request indicating your training interests, and contact information.  We will make arrangements with a club instructor to begin your training program as soon as possible.  And, if you’re not a club member yet, contact us for more information about scheduling an introductory flight!
